The APA-5D electrical unit is designed for electric start of aircraft engines and power supply of on-board electrical equipment in ground conditions with voltage 208 V and 36 V 400 Hz AC three-phase current, 120 V 400 Hz AC single-phase current and 28.5 V DC.

The electrical unit consists of a power plant, current generators, accumulator batteries, transformers, rectifiers, electric machine converters, control panel with electrical equipment units. It is equipped with cables with plug connectors for connection with on-board connectors of aerodrome power supply of aircraft.
